Important Notification from New Jersey American Water

As part of an ongoing capital investment project, our crews will be installing new equipment within our Raritan-Millstone Water Treatment Plant, which supplies the water to your area. Weather Permitting, the project will start on Tuesday, March 23rd and should be completed on Thursday, March 25th. During the project, you may experience discolored or cloudy water, or low water pressure. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3-5 minutes until the water runs clear. You will receive another notification should additional action be required, conditions change, or when repairs have been completed. If you are a landlord and water service is in your name, please inform your tenants so they are aware of this potential impact to their water service. Changing COVID-19 Restrictions

Indoor Capacity To Increase from 25% to 35% for Select Businesses

Beginning Friday, February 5th at 8am, indoor capacity limits will increase to 35% of stated capacity for food and beverage establishments, personal care businesses, and recreational and entertainment businesses, including gyms, fitness centers, and casinos. Certain indoor gatherings, including religious services and wedding ceremonies, will be limited to 35% of the room’s capacity up to 150 people. State to Lift Requirement to End Bar and Restaurant Service at 10pm

Starting Friday, February 5th, the State requirement to end service in bars and restaurants at 10pm will be lifted. However, municipalities and/or counties may continue to regulate hours of operation after 8pm, giving local officials the ability to respond to unique situations where they notice non-compliance. COVID-19 Vaccination Updates from the NJ Department of Health

New Jersey has experienced over 400,000 positive cases and approximately 16,000 deaths associated with COVID-19.  Vaccination is the latest tool in our toolbox to stop the spread. New Jersey recently rolled out COVID-19 vaccines step-by-step to serve all who live, work or study in the state. 

Starting in mid-December and continuing into early 2021, vaccine access will be given to New Jersey’s Phase 1A Group: health care workers, who are paid and unpaid persons serving in healthcare settings who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials.  Phase 1A also includes long-term care residents and staff.

Union County Opens Registration Portal for COVID-19 Vaccination Appointments Today

The Union County Board of County Commissioners today announced the opening of an online registration system for those eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. The registration system is currently open. Please note the registration system will only log those who are eligible to receive the vaccination. Those who are ineligible to receive vaccinations will not be allowed to pre-register, and must wait until they are eligible. The County is offering the Moderna vaccine.

Murphy Administration Reminds New Jerseyans of Coverage Benefits for COVID-19 Vaccine

As New Jersey continues to scale up its statewide vaccination program, the Murphy Administration today reminded New Jerseyans that the COVID-19 vaccine will be available without cost sharing barriers. Pursuant to the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Program Provider Agreement, all providers must vaccinate individuals regardless of whether they have health insurance coverage or what type of coverage they have, and are prohibited from balance billing or otherwise charging vaccine recipients.

“As we continue to roll out our robust statewide vaccination program, we want to make it clear to New Jerseyans that no one will have to pay for the vaccine itself, regardless of whether or not they have health insurance coverage,” said Governor Murphy. “We strongly encourage everyone to join hundreds of thousands of their fellow New Jerseyans in preregistering to receive the vaccine and taking another step toward ending this pandemic.”

Union County Flu Shot Drive in Linden

Union County is holding a flu shot drive in Linden on Thursday, November 12th from 4pm to 7pm at St Theresa Church (131 East Edgar Road) to help ensure that everyone has access to a free seasonal flu vaccine at a convenient location, especially residents who have no health insurance.
