Holiday Schedule for the Recycling Center and DPW Drop-Off

Due to the upcoming holidays, the Linden Recycling Center and the DPW drop-off site (for bulk trash) will be closed on:

  • Friday, December 23
  • Friday, December 30
  • Monday, December 26
  • Monday, January 2, 2023

Please note: the Recycling Center and the DPW drop-off site will be open during their regular hours on Saturday (from 8am until 2pm) on December 24 and December 31.

  • The Linden Recycling Center hours are as follows:
    • Monday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Tuesday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Wednesday from 7am until 8pm
    • Thursday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Friday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Saturday from 8am until 2pm

Recycling Center – Extended Hours

Starting Wednesday July 6th, the City of Linden is extending the hours at its Recycling Center on Wednesdays only, until 8pm.

The pilot program to extend the Linden Recycling Center hours will occur on Wednesdays only, until 8pm. The extended hours on Wednesdays will allow Linden residents with later work schedules to drop off their recyclables. The Recycling Center hours will remain the same for the other days of the week.

  • The Linden Recycling Center hours are as follows:
    • Monday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Tuesday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Wednesday from 7am until 2:30pm (beginning July 6th, Wednesday hours will be from 7am until 8pm)
    • Thursday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Friday from 7am until 2:30pm
    • Saturday from 8am until 2pm
  • Where: 2 Donaldson Place

Pumpkin Recycling Program #SmashItDontTrashIt

Union County’s Pumpkin Recycling Program will turn old pumpkins into a renewable, sustainable energy – and count towards your recycling tonnage! Union County has set up one drop off location in Cranford for all county residents and Westfield Conservation Center, located at 1300 Lamberts Mill Road, has also offered to be a drop off location. Collection will start Monday, November 2nd and run daily through Friday November 6th from 9am to 2pm.

DPW Closed for Normal Collection on July 3rd

In observance of the July 4th holiday there will be no normal collection/pickup on July 3rd, because the City of Linden will be closed. However, the DPW Bulk Trash Yard and the Recycling Center will both be open from 8am until 2pm.

Garbage collection in collection districts 1,2,3,9 and 10 will be Wednesday, July 1st.
Garbage collection in collection districts 4,5,6,7 and 8 will be Thursday, July 2nd.
